'Cards for the Elderly' Campaign
We currently have around 800 cards being made/already delivered to care homes. Several families, schools, nurseries and organisations have signed up so far (more than 400 children) to write thoughtful cards for care home residents.
Many of these residents have dementia, physical impairments, or are in end of life care. We want to make them feel loved and not forgotten. This campaign is supporting the residents’ mental health and empowering the children at this time (during Covid-19) to do good even when they may be feeling helpless. We have also seen that this campaign has given schools and nurseries an even greater sense of purpose in these difficult times and it’s helping build empathy in children.
We also discussed our campaign on BBC Radio London on the 3rd of March 2021.
Please reach out if you'd like to get involved. This campaign is not only open to children but also to anyone who would like to strengthen bonds in the community.
We are trying to reach as many elderly people as possible. Every single card counts.
